A letter from Lois to her family giving small updates on the whole family, mentioning that they spoke with Dr. Steward about the fundraising effort for the clinic, expressing joy at being able to return to work in the clinic, describing the weather and how the change in temperature has changed their daily wear, mentioning that she and Morrell have been invited to a public function organized by the mayor to celebrate a hero of the Cuban fight for independence, and sharing her thoughts on the revolutionaries who are fighting in the hills of Oriente.
